A Satire: Consider the "Cow"

So looking at this title, you may be thinking I'm going to speak on how bad it is to kill a cow. Or a cow's feelings when they see their friends and families being slaughtered. I felt like if I did do that, it would be a little hypocritical. Mainly because I am a person who likes to eat meat. So I decided to talk of something more important. The topic that is more important than an animal's feelings is me as the "Cow." I am considered as a literal cow because I am the mascot for Chic-fil-A. Yes this is completely true. My Saturdays consist of walking around in a furry cow costume for five hours. Then during those five hours I sweat, then sweat, and then sweat even more. And then repeat the next week. It's cool the first few times, it really is. The first time I saw the costume, in my head I was saying "Wow! This is so awesome, I am basically a superhero and this is my suit," and then I put it on. I'm a pretty short person, so the suit was prett...

Straight up, Aliens exist.

Alright, I already know that after reading this article, people are going to think I'm crazy. Like I'm a Lone Ranger in this belief. What am I talking about though? Aliens... I am not talking about illegal aliens. Not the term "aliens" to be used in profiling a Mexican, mainly due to Trump. But I really have a strong belief that aliens exist and that the government is hiding it .Yeah and I know, the point of "The Clan of One-Breasted Woman" is not to condemn the government. However, it is something that can be used as an argument. While others might say this whole article is dumb, but I think there is a genuine existence of aliens. And to clarify, Aliens: something from another planet. Think about it. The universe is insanely huge. It is filled with so many other planets. It is so hard to actually believe we are the only existing life in the entire universe. Like really the universe is so big and proven to be constantly expanding. And we are supposed...

Gender Ambigious Shrooms and Anime

To start things off, I personally did not completely agree with "There is No Unmarked Woman." I felt as though the piece was very nitpicky and petty. I mean how many females actually have the issue of being referred to as "Mrs." ? She has an issue because it claims to have  communicates a status, but "Mr." doesn't. Yeah, sure it carries some extra meaning, but I've never heard of someone  carrying this issue.  But, that doesn't mean I condemn her whole argument. I can see the faults in myself and society through Tannen's piece. When growing up, I had fallen in awe with the world of Super Mario. The games were bright, easy, and lighthearted. The ever expanding list of characters and enemies constantly grew as new games had come out. But the character that is important today is Toadette. I was introduced to Toadette in Mario Kart Wii, the first time I actually got a good look at the character. The character had the color scheme pink, pink...

Possible to "Re-alter" Public Space?

Now let's be honest, no matter what, everyone has had a quick judgement on a person before actually meeting them. That being based on their color or the way they dressed. It's very sad to say, but is just the reality we have to bear. That as people, we allow others to "alter" public space. Brent Staples an author who hails from Pennsylvania, brings his point of view in "Just Walk on By: A Black Man Ponders His Power to Alter Public Space." Staples talks of being given this default of being seen as mugger or rapist in the eyes of society. And how he has to go to extra lengths to be seen as a "normal" person. He claims to "whistle melodies from Beethoven and Vivaldi," which is completely absurd. But in my honest opinion, I feel as though media is great influencer on society. The news is always filling up with different headlines, people have phones to record everything, and social media pages allow almost anything to be posted. Which is...
